USAP Ideology
The philosophical foundation of the United Super Alliance Party
Democratic Socialism for Kenya
The United Super Alliance Party (USAP) subscribes to a progressive, uniquely African form of social democracy—Afro-Social Democracy. This ideology blends modern principles of equality and social justice with African traditions of communalism, equity, and participatory governance. 'Utu na Haki' (human dignity and justice), 'Uchumi Kwa Wote' (economy for all), and 'Uongozi wa Maadili' (ethical leadership). This philosophy is designed to deliver an inclusive, ethical, and accountable development agenda for Kenya.
Collective Ownership
We believe that the means of production should be owned and controlled by the workers and the community. This includes public ownership of key industries, utilities, and natural resources that are essential for the well-being of all Kenyans.
Economic Democracy
Economic decisions should be made democratically by those who will be affected by them. Workers should have a say in their workplaces, communities should control their local economies, and citizens should participate in national economic planning.
Social Solidarity
We reject individualism and competition as organizing principles of society. Instead, we embrace mutual aid, cooperation, and collective responsibility for the welfare of all members of society.
Pan-Africanism
Kenya's liberation is inseparable from the liberation of all African peoples. We support African unity, South-South cooperation, and solidarity with liberation movements across the Global South.
Historical Foundation
USAP's ideology draws from the rich tradition of African socialism, the anti-colonial struggle, and the global movement for social justice. We honor the legacy of leaders like Julius Nyerere, Kwame Nkrumah, and our own freedom fighters who understood that political independence without economic justice is incomplete liberation.
Our commitment to socialism is not imported ideology but rather a return to African values of communalism, ubuntu, and collective responsibility that existed long before colonialism disrupted our societies.
21st Century Socialism
Digital Commons
Technology should serve the people, not corporations. We support open-source software, public digital infrastructure, and democratic control over data and artificial intelligence.
Ecological Socialism
The climate crisis requires Super solutions. We cannot save the planet under capitalism. Only through democratic planning can we achieve a sustainable relationship with nature.
Feminist Socialism
Gender equality is integral to our vision. We recognize that women's liberation and socialism are inseparable struggles that must be fought together.
